HACC’s Chef Long publishes a cookbook in time for the holidays

A. Porter, Editor In Chief

In true Hawk fashion, perseverance shines through with Chef Thomas J. Long, CEC, AAC, executive chef at HACC.

Chef Long is the Director of Campus Dining at the Harrisburg campus.

The pandemic has temporarily closed the Chef’s Apprentice restaurant on campus, but Chef Long undeterred began hosting cooking shows on Zoom. During one of the cooking shows, it was suggested that Chef Long create a cookbook which leads us to “The Chef’s Apprentice Cookbook.”

The cookbook shares over 80 recipes – including Long’s prize-winning crab cakes. If you’re struggling for a gift idea under twenty dollars and want to support Chef Long and the Benjamin Olewine III Center for the Study of Culinary Arts and Food Service Management Fund for Excellence, this cookbook is the answer. We’re positive Chef Long won’t object to treating yourself either.

You can find the cookbook here. Share your photos of whatever recipes you create with the HawkEye so we can share the photos on social media!
