Union voting on bylaws, constitution continue for HACC Faculty

Now that HACC faculty have won the vote to become unionized, the faculty union committee asks all faculty for participation of major elections and voting.

By May 13, Hawk Faculty United, working with the Pennsylvania State Education Association, say they hope to have elected officers and a negotiation committee set.

A Constitution and Bylaws also must be ratified; the union process requires these documents to continue. Two town hall meetings on April 26 are set to discuss the draft Constitution and Bylaws document.

Hawk Faculty United is asking for members and non-members to participate in the meetings.

“This is an exciting time and your participation is crucial,” organizers wrote in an email on Monday.

In order to vote, faculty need to enroll in PSEA by 11 a.m., today, April 27. For more information and to enroll, see PSEA .

Voting for the ratification of the C&B begins today through Friday, April 29. Ballots will be sent through email, beginning at noon. Results will be announced by 4 p.m. April 29.

A series of elections to nominate officers and the negotiation committee also is planned. Nominations will be submitted from April 30-May 5. Results will be available May 13.
